Additional Information

Applications

Ruetom 420 applications include cutlery, shear blades, valves, surgical equipment.

Annealing

Heat slowly and uniformly to 1600°F for 6 hours and cool slowly in furnace.

Heat Treating

Ruetom 420 can be heat treated by oil quenching from 1800°F to 1900°F.

Tempering

Tempering should be at the proper temperature to achieve the desired hardness. Tempering between 800°F
and 1100°F should be avoided due to a decrease in corrosion resistance and toughness.
