Precision Marshall Expands Steel Segment with Central Steel Fabricators Acquisition

Precision Marshall CEO Tom Sedlak recently traveled to the Chicago area to help finalize the acquisition of Central Steel Fabricators (CSF), a Broadview, Illinois-based manufacturer that serves data centers and the communications industry. Precision Marshall completed the deal on behalf of its parent company, Live Ventures Inc., which acquired the South Strabane-based steelmaker in 2020. The addition of CSF strengthens Precision Marshall’s operations and pushes the organization’s workforce to more than 400 employees, while also expanding its footprint in Illinois alongside Precision Marshall’s national distribution center in Bolingbrook.

CSF, founded more than five decades ago, operates a union manufacturing facility in South Chicago and a headquarters/warehouse/distribution site in Broadview. The acquisition also continues a recent streak of growth for Sedlak’s steel manufacturing segment under Live Ventures, which now includes four companies: Precision Marshall plus The Kinetic Co. (acquired in 2022), Precision Metal Works (2023), and now Central Steel Fabricators. Sedlak said the deal adds diversity within the steel group and signaled that more acquisitions could be ahead as Live Ventures continues to support expansion in the steel segment.
